Easily Connect to a Personal FM System
Combining personal FM (PFM) systems and classroom amplification (sound field) technologies in the classroom can have huge educational and social benefits for students with hearing loss or auditory deficits – or it can contribute to their isolation. The key is how they are combined. When connected the right way, students can hear the voices of their peers by way of a pass-around microphone and hear multimedia – including movies, sound from educational software, music, and more.
In addition to the well-documented social and academic advantages to hearing the teacher’s voice consistently and clearly, these features offer a huge advantage for classroom engagement and participation.
PFM and FrontRow systems can be easily combined in five simple steps. This Easy-Connect Guide will help you to do it properly.
Support Collaborative Learning Environments
Take collaborative learning environments, where two or more people learn something together, to the next level by using your FrontRow system in conjunction with a videoconferencing software, like Skype, Illuminate, or Adobe Connect.
FrontRow sound systems allow the audio from the videoconference to be projected through the entire listening environment and audio from the teacher and student mics are all captured and projected back to the particpants clearly.

Connecting for Podcasting
Podcasting is simply recording an audio file and making it available on the Internet. What makes a podcast different from any other file uploaded to the Internet is the availability to subscribe to a podcast “show” through a subscription. Once subscribed, as new “episodes” are uploaded they will be delivered to your inbox. It is not necessary to subscribe to be able to download a podcast.
FrontRow is a great tool to help with your podcasting because it allows the teacher to be untethered from a microphone, and give them superior audio clarity. With the use of a student microphone or other integrated audio, it's all captured and included in the podcast as well!
Use this Podcasting Guide as a tool to help you get up and running or watch a video podcast created by a teacher using a FrontRow sound system to see how it can be done. Check out these additional videos podcasts to use as inspiration on how you can easily do this in your classroom too.
Enhancing Reading Lessons with Audio
If your class uses software to read stories aloud to your class, add sound effects to your readings, or play music alongside a lesson, then make sure your computer is integrated with your FrontRow system. This will allow all the audio to be amplified throughout the classroom.

Using Web-Based Learning Management Systems
Web-based learning management systems, like Schoology.com, allow teachers to create classrooms online, like a social networking site, but focused completely on what is going on in their classroom. In this environment, teachers can post documents, lessons, audio, and podcasts or videocasts of important lessons. All this information and lessons can then be reviewed for study,
